Meltique Beef was developed by Hokubee Co., Ltd (Japan) in 1984 and was inspired by the traditional French culinary method “Pique” which introduces fats into whole muscle red meat to enhance flavor, tenderness and consistency.

Our Australian sister company Hokubee Australia Pty Ltd and processing plant (Establishment Number: 429) in Wauchope, New South Wales, is our export approved facility accredited by the Australian government and industry bodies..

The Hokubee group’s vision is to contribute to a sustainable supply of high-quality Australian beef product to the world by applying Hokubee’s own unique patented value adding method. Hokubee Japan chose Australia as a production base because Australia has established a safe and reliable beef production system, which met our vision perfectly.

Australia has an internationally recognised status of being free of all major epidemic diseases to cattle, including Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE) and Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD).
